  • When dissolved in water, baking soda releases carbon dioxide, hence causing a fizz. This in turn opens the LES to relieve the pressure caused by bloating within the stomach. Unfortunately, this opening of the LES can cause regurgitation of stomach contents to the oesophagus.
  •  You should leave the baking soda to dissolve completely in the water before taking it. Additionally, consult your doctor if you experience stomachache after taking the solution.
