Yoga to Treat Different Skin Problems

How to do it:

Stand facing the sun with the spine straight. Fold the thumbs in the Namaskar pattern while touching your chest. Raise your hands and inhale, exhale as you keep your palms folded together.

Raise your hands slowly as you inhale deeply. While keeping your feet on the ground, stretch your arms as you bend backward to a half moon pose. Bend forward to touch the ground as your forehead touches your knees.    

   

Sarvangasana For Eczema and Psoriasis

Sarvangasana increases blood flow to your face and helps clear the skin. However, it is not recommended for those with heart or blood pressure issues. Even so, it is still a great technique for using yoga for eczema and psoriasis. These two conditions make the skin flaky and dry and encourage the development of patches. You can easily manage the condition by using this shoulder stand pose (Sarvangasana). This is one of the best yoga for skin problems techniques.

How to do it:

Lie flat on your back. Using your hands, lift your waist and legs such that you’re balancing on your shoulders.   

Kapalbhati for Treating Acne

Kapalbhati is also referred to as the Sanjeevani medicine. It is known to help in curing diabetes, asthma, and cancer. It helps clear acne and gets rid of toxins. Make sure to do it in the morning on an empty stomach.

How to do it:

Sit down with your legs crossed.  Inhale and exhale with full force from your abdomen as if you're trying to throw up. Repeat for about 15 times.

Uttanasana to Balance Hormones

Also referred to as Padahastasana or hasta padasana, this is a standing forward yoga pose. This pose helps to increase blood circulation to the neck, face and head. It also relaxes the facial muscles and allows the hormones to balance. This promotes healthy skin.

How to do it:

Standing straight on your feet, place your hands on your hips as you inhale. Bend your knees facing down and exhale. Ensure your hands are on the floor by the sides of your feet. As you lift your tailbone, push the torso forward and stretch. Hold this position for a few seconds and release. 

Pawanmuktasana for Acne and Skin Blemishes

This is also known as the wind relieving pose. This pose regulates and stimulates the digestive system. As a result, toxins are flushed out of your system. This is a great yoga for skin problems pose.

How to do it:

Lie flat on your back. Bring up your knees to your chest and hug them. Lift the head from the floor and stretch such that the nose goes between your knees. Hold for a few minutes as you practice deep breathing.

Trikonasana

This is also known as the triangle pose. The pose is used to help with circulation of blood to the face. This aids in helping to get rid of toxins, killing free radicals, and also clearing blockage. It releases any facial muscle stress leaving the skin glowing and healthy.

How to do it:

Feet apart, raise your arms to make them parallel to the ground, palm facing down. Turn the left foot to a 45-degree angle as the right one makes a 90-degree angle. The heels should form a straight line. Twisting your body to the right, extend your upper body as you bend towards the floor. Use the right hand to touch the left foot as you lift your left arm to the air. Face your left hand, hold for a bit and release. Do this for the other side.

Bhujangasana

Also known as the cobra pose, this pose allows you to stretch and open your lungs. This improves your breathing as it allows you to take in more oxygen. This pose will also help to regulate your hormones. It stops premature aging, heals sunburns, acne, rosacea and psoriasis among other skin conditions.

How to do it:

Lie flat on the ground tummy-first. Feet facing down and legs stretched, lift your chest after placing your elbows on your sides. Your body weight should transfer to the elbows. Inhale deeply and exhale. Repeat this pose a few times.

Viparita Karani

This is a leg up on the wall pose. This pose increases the flow of oxygen to the face. This flushes out the toxins from the body. Regularly performing this pose protects the skin from infections and allergies.

How to do it:

Sitting across a wall, raise your legs up the wall slowly. Gently lie down and stretch your arms to your sides with your palms facing upwards. Close your eyes and breathe. Release after a few minutes.
